Avoiding the Perfection Trap (#7)
Beyond perfectionism, why the sacred energy of 7 is essential for conscious entrepreneurs and how to harness it.
Dear Awakened Entrepreneur,
If you are following me here, you know that I’m new on Substack, that english is not my mother tongue, that my podcasts are really not perfect; Neither the audio quality of the first episodes nor my pronunciation is perfect.
What you might not know is that I absolutely don't want this platform and the content I’m sharing becoming a pressure, I want to follow my flow and my new way of working based on my 3F’s mantra (Full of ease, Fun, Fluid).
I want to improve myself by doing in another way. I crave to be more conscious and present to the way I write here. Thank God, ChatGPT has been a great help (as well for my french content, it helped me to improve my structure and in english to improve my grammatical and vocabulary, and it’s such a good coach!).
So the way I’m doing here is far from conventional and really not perfect. And that’s what I’ve been asked to heal in the beginning of the year 9, 2025: healing the old structures that doesn’t fit anymore, releasing the need of perfection, controlling, planning, organizing, doing my admin, etc. and all I’ve been taught in my entrepreneur-adn-family with such a big work-hard-value dominant. Embracing my worthiness and what I truly deserve as a birth or soul right.
At some point when I shared this with one of my friend, who used to live abroad from Switzerland with such perfect English, I felt miserable. Not at first sight, when she nicely open a zoom-coffee to practice my english, but … after.
I was driving to my sport session and realised I was feeling like a piece of shit because I dare to express in english here. And I told myself:
“Valérie, don’t get trapped in the 7 perfection again! You used to allow yourself 80% of perfection. Now find your own way and flow, and improve along the way each day. Make your Substack account and journey a spiritual practice!”
In moments like these, I remind myself of my 3F's mantra: Full of ease, Fun, Fluid. Instead of pushing myself into perfectionism, I choose to approach my journey with lightness and flow. My mantra Peaceful Success also helps me ground myself in the belief that I want success to be achieved with alignment and ease, rather than struggle.
And guess what?!
Finding our own spirituality, deepening our experience with what is en our relationship with presence and consciousness, what it means for us is also a characteristic of the 7.
As a July, pride and bright Leo I know the 7 very well. As a 5/1 profile in Human design, my 1-investigator is related to the 7 as well.
I love it as much as I hate it.
I love that:
I’m curious enough to learn and look for more information, as well as to listen to people’s journey and life.
I have a talent to share my experiences and knowledge, in a practical way, and part of my mission is to share to open ways.
I have developed my own practices and methods to integrate spirituality into my life.
I enjoy understanding how things work and find solution (ok, here it’s mixed with the 9)
I believe in the sacred of things and have a profound respect for it: either it’s from family and ancestral inheritance in entrepreneurship or the cobblestones in the old streets, which were handcrafted and laid by hardworking hands, and on which we have been walking for hundreds of years.
the 7 has the right to take a pause to feel the aligned next steps and gain clarity. And finally know the right path when it’s for me. For clients and friends it’s always clear, intuition and guides are supporting and guiding me. I instantly know what’s to be done or how to use resources in a company to improve wellbeing and of course profitability (they are correlated afterall).
I hate that:
I feel like I'm never done learning, and I can never reach a final conclusion to my knowledge.
I’ve been raised to be perfect and this perfection is so subjective that it’s not useful for me and make me feel like I’m never enough or I’m unworthy.
I’m often trapped in deeping my research instead of doing. It seems the 7, as well as the investigator in HD, line 1, makes me procrastinate or avoid facing things (even if avoiding is more a 5 habits).
number 7 makes my head unclear and foggy when it’s about accepting what I’m here for and stop pivoting, or adjusting (ok part of Mani Gen, and number nine, and Neptune rx near my midheaven, as well).
from time to time this number 7 makes me feel alone, like the Ermit in the Tarot (even if it’s not the same number) and misunderstood
also, the feeling that I know more than others—but who am I to claim or believe that?
Ok that’s my relationship with the 7.

Despite my tendency to aim for perfection, I recently experienced the beauty of embracing imperfection
on January 8th, I hosted a Future Life Progression workshop at my place to set intentions for 2025. Only two people showed up. Financially, it wasn’t 'worth it'—I hadn’t communicated enough because I was on vacation during Christmas, and honestly, I wasn’t fully prepared after just getting back.
Yet, during the workshop, I simply showed up as myself—in my role as a conscious business facilitator and mentor for entrepreneurs. And you know what? It turned out to be an incredible session.
I loved how I felt, and it reminded me that the more I embrace my 3F’s mantra—Full of ease, Fun, Fluid—the better I feel. It was the perfect example of how being imperfect can still bring deep satisfaction and meaningful results. In the end, profitability is secondary to the quality of connection and work I provide.
